Tom and I have always been impressed by Salesforce’s giving model. They donate 1% of their revenue, 1% product, and 1% time to charity. We’ve always wanted to figure out a way that we can structure Red Argyle to give a portion back, and the Salesforce model is an excellent structure. 1% is an easy calculation across the board, and while 1% does not seem like a big number, it adds up.
So, we are proud to announce that for the 2012 fiscal year Red Argyle has just completed donating 1% of our GROSS REVENUE to charity!
Since we have presences in Albany and Rochester, we wanted to pick some charities that had local impact. We wanted to donate money in a way that can help a lot of people. We ended up working with:
Food Link in Rochester. Food link’s mission is: To provide hunger relief, eliminate the root causes of hunger, improve health, and promote economic development. This is done through the distribution of food to a network of agencies and by empowering individuals through nutritional and agricultural programs.
Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Albany – Food bank that serves a large portion of the state and delivers over 25 MILLION pounds of food annually to member food pantries and soup kitchens.
We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with these fine organizations as we move forward into 2013. Tom and I are both excited and humbled by the awesome work these groups are doing and are very pleased to have been able to help.
