Celebrating 14 Years of Innovation and Growth at Red Argyle
It’s hard to believe that Red Argyle is celebrating its 14th birthday! What started in 2010 as a bold idea between a couple of Salesforce enthusiasts has transformed into a powerhouse consulting partner, delivering cutting-edge solutions and transforming the way businesses leverage the Salesforce ecosystem. Along the way, we’ve racked up plenty of milestones, learned a few lessons, opened new office doors, and built a team of incredibly talented individuals who drive our vision forward.
Let’s take a look at how far we’ve come and how the road ahead is shaping up to be even more exciting.
From Basement Startups to Industry Recognition
Red Argyle began with just a handful of dedicated folks, but it wasn’t long before our reputation for solving tough challenges with a smile spread. Fast forward 14 years, and we’ve secured a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in the U.S.—not once, but multiple times. That’s a nod not just to our growth, but to the trust our clients and partners place in us.
We’ve also broken through as a regional Salesforce leader, proudly helping organizations across industries realize their goals through Salesforce. Our solutions have touched everything from financial services to nonprofits, and our team’s impact continues to grow.
Embracing Change and Fostering Growth
You don’t thrive for over a decade in tech by standing still. We’ve embraced change at every turn, from adapting to new Salesforce innovations to ensuring that our team stays ahead of the curve with certifications and continuous learning. At Red Argyle, growth isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we actively cultivate. From our team to the broader community, we’re dedicated to helping others succeed and grow.
Our partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is one example of this commitment in action. Through our RIT Co-op Program, we provide students with invaluable hands-on experience working on real-world Salesforce projects. This partnership has evolved over the years, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and professional application, and we’re proud to be helping shape the next generation of Salesforce experts.
In addition to RIT, our involvement in the KORP Paths Program is another standout. This program provides tech training and career opportunities for underrepresented communities, and Red Argyle is thrilled to be part of this initiative. We’re not just focused on growing our company; we want to help foster a more inclusive tech industry that provides opportunities for everyone.
Argyler Community Leadership
The commitment of our Argylers extends well beyond our own team and projects. We’re proud to support our team members who give back to the Salesforce community as user and community group leaders, creating spaces for learning, networking, and growth.
Miranda Ragland, an Architect at Red Argyle, is a driving force in the Orange County, CA Developer Group. As one of the group’s leaders, Miranda brings together developers of all levels—from curious beginners to seasoned pros—to discuss the latest Salesforce tools, techniques, and insights. She says, “We meet monthly to highlight and discuss the latest and greatest Salesforce tools, techniques, and tips from the perspective of a Salesforce Developer. We welcome all levels, from curious to beginner to advanced.” Previously, Miranda led the first LGBTQIA+ Salesforce user group and was a leader for the Orange County Women in Tech group, reflecting her commitment to creating inclusive, supportive spaces in tech.
Meanwhile, Kristen Handler, Senior Account Manager at Red Argyle, leads the Salesblazer AMER group—an important hub for sales professionals across the Americas who want to stay on top of Salesforce’s sales innovations and best practices. Kristen brings her expertise and passion for connecting people to her role, ensuring that Salesblazers in the community have the tools and insights to succeed in a rapidly evolving field.
Human-Centered Solutions
Throughout our journey, one thing has always been true: We’re all about people. Whether we’re helping our clients implement Salesforce solutions that make their users’ lives easier or spotlighting our incredible team members through the Argyler Spotlight blog series, people are at the heart of everything we do.
Our commitment to accessibility and user experience has also taken center stage, with our very own Stephy Hogan leading the charge as one of Salesforce’s top influencers in accessibility design. We’ve made it our mission to ensure that the solutions we build don’t just work—they work for everyone.
Q&A With Red Argyle’s Leaders: Garry Polmateer and Tom Patros
To commemorate this milestone, we sat down with Red Argyle’s CEO, Garry Polmateer, and Founder & CTO, Tom Patros, to get their insights on what makes Red Argyle unique and where we’re headed.
Q: Garry, if you could have any superpower to help run Red Argyle, what would it be?
Garry: I’d love a magical calendar that manages itself. It would make sure I attend all the right meetings and give me time set aside for heads-down work.
Q: How have you seen the Salesforce ecosystem change over the years, and how has Red Argyle adapted?
Garry: There’s a much stronger focus on specialization and industry now. I think that’s a good thing because it allows firms like us to carve out a niche where we can be the best in the world.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you give to new Argylers when they first join the team?
Garry: Get to know your teammates—we have so many awesome people here. And check out all our Slack channels; there are interest groups that align with both personal and professional interests.
Q: What’s your favorite part about leading such a diverse and talented team?
Garry: Seeing team members grow and embrace new challenges. I love being able to confidently tell people we have the best team in the world because I believe in what we can accomplish together.
Q: Tom, looking back at the last 14 years, what’s one milestone that stands out?
Tom: 14 years, one bullet – Oof that’s a tough one. A time I think about a lot was late 2019 into 2020. We were on such a high point at the end of 2019; Then COVID had different ideas for us. But the company came together and converted the energy of that high point into resilience. And I think resilience has been a recurring theme since then.
Q: How has Red Argyle’s mission evolved over the years?
Tom: Mission and vision evolution: at this moment, I feel like we’re the most mature company we’ve ever been. We’re focused on “doing less, better” with the types of clients and projects we work on. We have a clearer, succinct description of what Red Argyle does. We are putting meaningful process to operational challenges and making things better every month.
Q: If Red Argyle was a person, how would you describe them?
Tom: Equal parts curious, adaptive, and tenacious—a “creative technologist.” Humble enough to recognize imperfections and brave enough to correct them.
Q: Red Argyle has a reputation for being a great place to work. What’s the secret sauce?
Tom: The secret sauce: it is a direct function of the Argylers who work here. I like to think of Red Argyle having many “vintages” of itself over time, and they were all based on a mixture of the people who worked here and the projects we were working on. Argylers bring the sauce – Red Argyle is the pot they all mix into, and it’s always made for a good meal
